Regional Blender Users Meeting - Fullerton, CA

Where: Fullerton Public Library
353 W Commonwealth Ave
Fullerton, CA 92832
When: TBD
Time: TBD

UPDATE: 08/02/14 This meeting is still in the planning stages and still on the to do list. We have been looking for additional sponsors for the event and may have some. We will keep you posted as things develop.

This will be a big regional meeting that will be co-sponsored by the library and advertised to the public. We expect about 60 or more people to attend. It will probably be in the Community Room. I am talking with them about the details and will be open/advertised to the public. They have WiFi, a projector/screen and a large room. There are a few good places close by to hang out afterward plus their new Greenhouse Cafe in the library is open.

ATM, the general format is as follows. We will be playing the open movies BBB, Sintel, ToS and the Gooseberry teaser. We may have artists/team members of open movie projects via video chat or text chat available to talk about their work.

There will also be a hands on segment that is like a learning lab where people who have brought their laptop will be able to download and install Blender then get a hands on tutorial on getting started.

A few computers/laptops will also be available for the general public to try out Blender if they did not bring their own computer. They will also be used for one-on-one demonstrations.

SIGGraph local chapters and other organizations are involved the the planning and coordination of this event. More info on planning and volunteering coming soon.
